We are part of the People Make Glasgow Communities, working in partnership with the City Council and Glasgow Life to reopen our local Community Centre.

Purpose of the Role

Are you passionate about working with young people and supporting your local community?

At St Paul’s Youth Forum (SPYF), we work at the heart of Blackhill/Provanmill to tackle the root causes and effects of poverty. We're currently looking for a Sessional Youth Worker/Centre Assistant to join our team and help deliver high-quality, impactful youth and community work.

About the Role

As a Sessional Youth Worker/Centre Assistant, you will engage directly with young people to provide meaningful development opportunities, focusing on our core themes of eating, exercise, education, and empowerment.

You will also play an essential role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the SPYF Molendinar Centre. This includes a wide variety of tasks such as:

  • Supporting and delivering youth and community sessions

  • Assisting with community engagement activities

  • Managing general admin and desk-based duties (email, phone, bookings)

  • Updating and responding to social media content

  • Welcoming visitors and responding to general enquiries

  • Setting up rooms for meetings, community functions, and sports hall activities

  • General housekeeping and cleaning duties as required

What We're Looking For

We’re seeking someone who is:

  • Driven, enthusiastic, and passionate about helping others realise their potential

  • Experienced in planning and delivering engaging youth work or community development programmes

  • Aligned with SPYF’s values of inclusiveness, accessibility, and support

  • Confident in working with individuals who face barriers to participation in community life

  • Comfortable with a mix of hands-on and desk-based responsibilities

If you thrive in a community-focused environment and want to be part of a team making real change—we’d love to hear from you.

Working closely with staff, Trustees, local authorities, funders, and external commercial partners, the Sessional Youth Worker / Centre Assistant will help ensure the Molendinar Centre remains a welcoming and dynamic learning space. This role is key to creating an inclusive environment that serves not only young people and local residents, but also individuals and groups from across Glasgow.
